Apex Omnivox
A Brief History of OmniVox
Created by voice application developers as a system level product, OmniVox provides tools not just for the creation of applications, but for the deployment, monitoring and data collection necessary to run a system.
From the beginning OmniVox has been focused on the development of open architecture multiprocess based voice solutions. OmniVox for UNIX was the first authorized Dialogic-based UNIX ToolKit and OmniVox for Windows NT, the first NT ToolKit.
These award winning service creation, runtime and management environments have earned their reputations as reliable foundation(s) for high density, open architecture call processing systems.
APEX's OmniVox products for UNIX and Microsoft Windows NT have received numerous awards from major industry publications. These powerful and highly intuitive call processing development environments provide complete graphical programming interfaces.
Developing Applications with OmniView
OmniView® (pictured on the cover) provides full drag-and-drop development facilities. This native-mode interface, common to both UNIX and NT versions, provides command icons which can be linked together to create an application call flow. Behind each icon is a dialog box containing application-specific information such as which messages to play, how many DTMF inputs to collect, etc.
Icons are grouped into logical palettes including general purpose IVR, Voice Mail, FAX, ODBC, Voice Recognition and several others. These objects are linked together by the developer to create virtually any call processing application.
Quality - Not Quantity
Many companies cite the number of icons within their development environments as proof that their application construction engines are more functional. By designing more functionality into each icon, we minimize the number of steps needed to accomplish a logical function, while preserving a rich development environment.
Rather than designing new objects to meet every conceivable requirement, APEX designers continually enhance existing icons to add new functionality, resulting in a development engine which remains easy to learn and intuitive to use.
Not Just a Pretty GUI
OmniVox for UNIX also provides text interfaces for non-graphical application development. These interfaces can be used locally or remotely, via modem or network, and provide full development and maintenance access to the various OmniVox runtime and development environments. Changes made in text mode are updated to the GUI automatically and developers who are working in text mode are warned that the graphics in their applications will change to reflect changes made in the .lower. programming interfaces.
Developers have many ways to create applications within the OmniVox development environment. OmniView has a full palette of user-defined icons and NT developers can use a Visual Basic compatible macro language. Many developers use these tools to create suites of functions unique to the applications they develop.
Configuration and Administration
Many application development products only offer service creation tools and leave service deployment and management up to the customer. The OmniVox environment provides easy-to-use facilities for these crucial operations. These operations include Line Management, Digital Line Configuration, DNIS/ANI format customization utilities, application start and stop utilities and user configurable reporting. In addition, APEX.s sophisticated OmniNet Network Services Manager provides a single point of control to a distributed network of OmniVox systems.
OmniVox® AES
MULTI-SERVICE PLATFORM FOR THE IP NETWORK
Supports: SIP, H.323, HMP
OmniVox AES for SIP
OmniVox AES for SIP is an advanced software solution providing an application server over SIP networks. OmniVox AES speaks SIP directly to leading softswitches and gateways to provide services such as Voice Mail, Calling Card and IP IVR using VXML and ASR technology. OmniVox AES comes standard with an integrated OAM&P GUI that provides the finest application development tools available, allowing users to create, monitor and administer their services and platform via a WEB browser.
OmniVox AES can run as a stand-alone server or as a network of servers. Built on Microsoft’s Windows® 2003 Server, OmniVox AES for SIP runs on off-the-shelf Intel Pentium® MULTI-SERVICE PLATFORM FOR THE IP NETWORK processors and on NEC fault tolerant servers, ensuring your services never go down.
OmniVox AES performs real-time call processing via SIP messaging and provides independent, script-controlled IVR prompting over RTP. OmniVox AES is a software solution that requires no third party call processing hardware, greatly reducing the cost of the solution.

OmniVox AES for SS7
Network IVR – OmniVox AES is easily connected to multiple networks via SS7, ISDN, SIP and other protocols, which enable it to be the ideal network Media Server, giving not only a robust IVR feature set, including Natural Language Speech Recognition, but also the ability to complete the call to multiple Call Centers and multiple types of Call Centers.
SS7 – OmniVox AES SS7 integration offers great flexibility in the choice of the Service Providers Network Architecture. Available products include an Intelligent Peripheral, ISUP Loopback, Protocol Conversion, SS7 Gateways and IVR.
Intelligent Peripheral – OmniVox AES offers INAP integration for an Intelligent Peripheral tailored to the needs and specifications of a variety of service providers.
ISUP Loopback – OmniVox AES offers a cost effective alternative for offering Prepaid Calling Cards directly on an existing network while limiting the need for Media and IVR ports.
Protocol Conversion and SS7 Gateways – OmniVox AES can act as a switch to front end Telephony solutions which are not SS7 enabled or as a Network wide Distributed Gateway for legacy OmniVox and/or OmniVox AES Media Servers and IVR devices.
